• Professor

Hyung-Sool Lee is a Professor in the Institute for Environmental and Climate Technology in Korea Institute of Energy Technology and is also the President of the International Association for a Carbon-Neutral Circular Economy (IACCE)

His research mainly involves fundamentals and applications of biotechnologies including microbial electrochemical cells (MECs), fermentation, anaerobic digestion, anaerobic respiration for producing higher value-added products from byproducts and waste. In addition, Professor Lee has worked for water and wastewater treatment, including anaerobic membrane bioreactor and anaerobic methane oxidation coupled to denitrification.
