About Us

KENTECH’s H2X Lab is one of the laboratories at KENTECH Institute of Hydrogen Energy.

The lab consists of many researchers including professors, post-docs, graduate students, and interns. Members, all together, are conducting R&D to develop technologies related to chemical hydrogen storage and hydrogen purification. Through R&D activities, we aim to develop advanced technologies and directly apply these technologies to hydrogen energy-related industries.

For chemical hydrogen storage, we aim to make electrochemical or thermochemical reactions of hydrogenation and dehydrogenation to be highly efficient and durable. We concentrate on development of electrochemical/chemical catalysts and new design of cells/stacks and reactors for diverse hydrogen carrier like ammonia, formic acid and so on.

For hydrogen purification, we focus on metallic dense membranes, such as Pd, Ta, and Nb. We try to enhance permeation properties and stability of membranes by modification of composition, structure of membranes. We use these high performance-membranes to membrane reactors in which dehydrogenation reaction and hydrogen separation simultaneously.
