Why should we study this track?
Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence unarguably are the most important subjects that change the world. Like other big technologies, electric system (including electric motors), automobiles and the Internet for examples, novel Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence techniques are opening new opportunities toward disruptive economic growth. The Energy AI track is in the main stream of such big change. We introduce recent breakthroughs as well as important conventional wisdoms in all areas of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. We care for and develop each student such that she/he will be a leader in technology and socio-economic evolutions. The Kentech Energy AI track fosters efficient yet friendly education and research environments incorporating warm and communicating working cultures as well as superative teaching and experimental facilities. What do we learn from this track?
The Energy AI track offer both undergraduate and graduate level classes. Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence have repeated light speed progresses during last two or three decades. We believe that deep understanding of basic Computer Science and strong mathematical foundation are the essential tools to keep up with rapid changes. Undergraduate students first start taking an introductory class called “Computational Thinking”. A student without prior knowledge or experience in coding or Computer Science can take the class. Enthusiastic professors, lecturers and TAs will help you to quickly grasp basic but abstract concepts of Computer Science. We also customize the class according to each student’s prior coding and Computer Science experiences. The main undergraduate course work consists of basic Computer Science including Mathematical Foundation of Computer Science, Data Structure, Computer Architecture, System Programming, and Introductory Machine Learning. We also provide opportunities to delve into advanced studies in various areas of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.
Graduate classes consists of three levels: Introductory, Intermediate and Advanced. Introductory classes will be open to undergraduate students as well as to graduate classes. Introductory and intermediate level lasses include Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Computer Vision, NLP, Computer Networks, Security, HCI, Data Mining, and applications. Unlike the introductory and intermediate classes, advanced graduate classes dynamically select topics of current research attentions.

What will it mean for my future and career? / What study we can do after graduation?
Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence are the most promising and rapidly growing fields. The demands for skilled computer scientists, engineers, data scientists and artificial intelligence experts have surpassed the supply for last several years and the deficiency is expected to persist. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projects jobs for computer and information technology occupations will grow significantly — an 11% increase — from 2019 to 2029 (https://www.bls.gov/ooh/computer-and-information-technology/home.htm). This is significantly faster than the projected growth rate for all occupations. Some computer science jobs, such as computer and information research scientists, are projected to grow even more quickly.
Graduates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree may either continue further study or may join companies. Many companies are transitioning to digital and AI companies. In addition to IT oriented companies, legacy industry such as energy healthcare, financing, transportation, construction, manufacturing, e-commerce, logistics and delivery platforms are transforming to AI companies. Energy AI graduates will play key roles in such legacy companies in initiating and perfecting AI transitions. Another important career path is to establish or join startups.
Graduates with Ph.D degrees go on to conduct groundbreaking research, and teach the next generation of computer scientists and AI experts.
